Why Ghost Ranch?
Inspired by Our Ancestral Homelands.
We chose to be married at Ghost Ranch because of the mesas. There is something deeply grounding about standing at the base of a mesa, the way it rises from the earth with quiet strength, layered with time, memory, and story. These landscapes are not just beautiful to us, they are familiar. They are home.
Carlette grew up living at the base of a mesa in Laguna Pueblo, where the colors of the land were part of everyday life, the soft creams of sunlit stone, the warm reds of weathered rock, and the deep earth tones that anchor the desert. Driving across Navajo Nation, especially through places like Window Rock and the Four Corners region, you see these same colors again and again, red rock rising against open sky, desert rose and rust tones glowing in the evening light. These landscapes shaped how we see the world, and they shaped us.
When we first came to Ghost Ranch, we recognized those same mesas immediately. It felt like a continuation of home, a place that carries the same spirit and geology as the lands that raised us.
